understanding, imagining and designing FOR FUTURE wellbeing.

How might we paint a picture of the future that prioritizes wellness in the future?

01
Establish framework for wellbeing through primary research with stakeholders.

Building on a Historic relationship with Boeing, this studio builds towards a deeper understanding of wellness.

How was this project structured?

Live Well Collaborative team, the University of Cincinnati Masters of Design Class, Boeing partners and Faculty all worked together to interview flight attendants, co-create a framework and develop deliverables.

As a fellow, I took the lead managing these relationships and building bridges between stakeholders, while Live Well associated and the MDes class executed on needs.

02
Conduct STEEP research, identify trends, create future personas.

03
Create compelling narratives that support an argument for wellbeing.

01

  • 2 rounds of interviews and facilitated co-creation activities.

  • Coordination with client to understand spaces they’re most equipped to play in.

Output: An understanding of the problem-space that aligns with stakeholder needs, team capabilities and client constraints.

02
Conduct STEEP research, identify trends, create future personas.

  • STEEP factor analysis

  • Trend research identified 6 key trends

  • Established a process for creating personas based on secondary research through the use of “Practical Factors”

  • Coalesced wellness learnings, trend research, and personas into cohesive future narratives.

Create compelling narratives that support an argument for wellbeing.

Create a cohesive vision of the future.

Developed 6 signal briefs that outlined future scenarios. These signal briefs were distributed to the larger group in skill-specific teams to create deliverables.

Narrative Development

Construct narratives that tell the story of the future.

Concept visualization

Design concepts that help flesh out each world and bring life to the possibility of wellbeing.

“Signal Briefs” based on our trends research create framework for concepting.

Co-creation and refinement with flight attendants

  • Worked with flight attendants to collect their input on our concepts.

Share-outs with clients, managing expectations, and organizing teams were the biggest learnings from this project.

Taking and incorporating feedback between so many different individuals was a huge learning experience!

Development of these materials continues to inspire work within Boeing.

SO WHAT?

Our clients are using the output of the studio to build momentum within their organization!
